Supposedly NYC has one of the most amazing 4th of July fireworks displays in the country: six sets of fireworks set off simultaneously on the Hudson River. This event draws thousands and thousands of people, all flocking to the river to claim a decent view of the show. As 9:30pm drew closer, police started blocking off streets due to overcrowding. It got pretty chaotic. The idea of a bomb scare did cross my mind, as did the fact that I would be trampled to death if something like that were to happen. Thank God it didn’t. After about an hour of walking up and down the avenue, this was the best view we could get.
